Our Social Skills Group uses a cognitive behavioral therapy approach for ADHD, Anxiety, Asperger’s Disorder, High Functioning Autism, and NLD in children 6 to 18.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a goal-oriented psychotherapy treatment that is a short-term, hands-on, and practical approach to problem-solving. The goal of this group is to provide in-the-moment feedback and interventions to change your child’s patterns of thinking or behavior that are behind their challenges so that we can transform the way they feel.
Social skills such as listening, managing feelings, and practicing body control are critical to successfully respecting and interacting with others. The lack of these skills can cause a child to experience behavioral and emotional difficulties. Kids with learning disabilities, anxiety, Asperger’s Disorder, and ADHD often need additional support in these areas.
At Child-ology, we are focused on providing a safe and fun environment for your child to learn and practice these newly integrated skills.
